Training schedule

OPTION 1 > TriathlonPerfection > Adopting a training schedule without coaching.

This is a budget-friendly way to follow a balanced training program without the higher costs of triathlon coaching. All training programs are written by Eric van der Linden. The length of a schedule can vary from 8 to 30 weeks. In the autumn/winter period you can choose from different points of interest. For example, more focused on swimming or more on running. You then switch to a competition-oriented program towards a Sprint, Olympic, half- or full-distance triathlon. You indicate your own races when registering so that they are included in the training schedule, including taper before and recovery after the race.

  • Training schedule is loaded into Trainingpeaks
  • Three types of load capacity levels: LOW – NORMAL – HIGH
  • 8 types of points of interest: including SWIM/RUN – SWIM/BIKE – BIKE/RUN – SWIM/BIKE/RUN
  • Number of hours per week: up to 6h – 7/8h – 9/10h – 12h – 15h – 20h.
  • Option: Processing your competitions in training program!

You choose your training schedule based on how many hours you can/like to train per week and which sports (swimming, cycling, running) you want to focus on. You then only determine your current trainingload. Choose ‘LOW’ if you are in still in building phase after having an injury. Choose ‘Normal’ you can train normally. Choose ‘HIGH’ if you are in excellent physical condition and your body is used to training for several years. If you have any questions, please contact us!

Coaching & advice without a schedule

OPTION 2 > TriathlonPerfection > (co)-Coaching on your own training program When carrying out your own training program or that of your own trainer, bumps in the road arise sooner or later. An injury crops up or there are other (still) inexplicable issues that are causing things not to go as they should…then it is nice to be able to discuss and seek advice. So you can get back on track quickly!
  • Eric van der Linden will NOT take over the role of trainer..
  • Analyzes training data in Trainingspeaks..
  • Addresses the issue…
  • Advises which route to take You (and possibly your trainer) make decisions.
  • Ideal for triathletes who run their own schedule
  • Youth/juniors where there is no route to the top

This is not the usual way that triathletes (and trainers!) are used to. But it is a very effective way to (temporarily) gain more knowledge and experience with your program.

Full Tri coaching

Een volledig gestuurd trainingsprogramma door Eric van der Linden. Na het afnemen van inspanningstesten en een intake in de TRIGYM ga je aan de slag met een volledig op maat gestuurd programma. Je bent in bezit van een hartslagmeter (en bij voorkeur ook powermeter) zodat alle data gelogd kan worden. Communicatie loopt via videocall / telefoon, email en training chats.

Who is a separate training schedule suitable for?
For everyone. You indicate your current load, how many hours per week you can train and which sport(s) you want to make progress in.
I want my personal triathon races included in the schedule?
That's no problem. When registering you can choose to have 2, 4 or 6 triathlon races included in your training schedule.
Can I get data analysis and/or advice about a separately purchased training schedule?
Which can. You can book this separately at any time.
Can I also receive regular advice on my own training schedule?
You have the choice of receiving analysis and advice once, every 14 days, monthly or quarterly.
When do I request injury advice?
The sooner you start treatment, the faster it will be under control. By making the right decisions right away, worse things will be prevented.
What can I expect as a youth / youth with a route to the top?
To be good at the elite level (say between 25-30 years old) it is important that the route to this level is optimal. The long-term picture will be discussed with you. You will be told points of interest that can increase your chances of actually becoming a top triathlete.
Is the coaching for every level of triathlete?
Yes, anyone who would like to take steps, embrace the process and, above all, enjoy taking their triathlon to a higher level is welcome!
Am I committed to a coaching subscription for a number of months?
No, no one is captured. Enthusiastic athletes remain! The subscriptions can simply be stopped monthly.
Is there a golden tip?
Patience, consistency and enjoyment!
